Most of my readers may be unfamiliar with the term SEO. If so, it’s time to learn what it means.
SEO and Tradical 360
If you’ve tried to check my site in recent days and been dissatisfied, there’s a good explanation why. During my blog’s redesign and migration onto Tradical 360′s server, there was an issue with how Rackspace’s servers saved our data: in a move to store all my blog’s data onto the cloud, it went to the wrong server. My dear co-worker Abu then had to spend many hours putting my site back up with all of its original data.
Abu Bah is our SEO specialist at Tradical. He’s the guy who tracks how our keywords are doing, as well as moving through code and developing our websites. Together Abu and I optimize different pages with appropriate keywords, with him
doing all the technical stuff and me doing all the headline writing.

What’s interesting is that our work is becoming more and more valuable. Any digital agency in NYC has to know a little about search engine optimization, what makes a site show up on the first page of Google, or else they will have to outsource to an SEO specialist.
With the transition onto the internet from the physical world, SEO is becoming more and more an issue for small companies trying to cultivate a brand. Since most people don’t even move past the first page of their chosen search engine, preferring instead to refine their search keywords into a longer keyphrase, it’s increasingly important that companies create an online presence. Eventually, individuals will have to hire personal brand specialists, people who are knowledgeable in SEO and branding, in order to market themselves to an internet-savvy world.
It’s already started with those freelancers and artists who specialize in social media. In ten years, who knows how much more important SEO will be? For those writers like yours truly who are preparing to self-publish, it’s absolutely crucial to have your name come up on the first page when people search for you. That’s why I’m glad to have someone as good as Abu on my side.
